The acronym MAMP refers to a set of free software programs commonly used together to run dynamic Web sites or servers Mac, the operating system; Apache, the Web server; MySQL, the database management system (or database server) and Perl, PHP, and/or Python, scripting languages.

Somehow, MAMP is a place to test your website before you show it to the whole world. A great way to work and test things out is to install a web server right on your own computer. This way you work offline and if you mess things up you can just start over again without taking your site down or futzing with FTP and/or SSH.

By default, Adium records your chat transcripts (in a location which only you or someone with administrator-level access to your computer can view), making their full contents available for viewing and searching via the Chat Transcript Viewer and displaying recent messages when you open new chat windows.

How do I view my chat transcripts?

• To see all logs, select “Chat Transcripts Viewer” from the Window menu.

• To view logs of conversations with just one contact, select that contact, then select “View Chat Transcripts” from the Contact menu.

How do I disable recording of messages?

You can disable logging from the General pane of Adium’s Preferences.

You can disable in-window message history, which displays recent lines of conversation when you open a chat window, from the “Message History” section of the Advanced pane of Adium’s Preferences.
